Sting celebrate back-to-back wins against Rangers

The Sarnia Sting have completed back-to-back victories against the Kitchener Rangers following Friday's 6-3 win at Progressive Auto Sales Arena.

The win comes just days after the Sting topped the Rangers 4-3 in a shootout on Tuesday.

Nolan Burke scored Sarnia's first goal of the night, two minutes into the first period. Theo Hill followed with a second goal, with assists from Ryan Mast and Marko Sikic during a power play.

Ethan Ritchie scored the game-winning goal with an assist by Max Namestnikov.

During a post-game press conference, Hill said Friday's win was a well-rounded effort by the team.

Ben Gaudreau also said having more fans back in the stands during games "is huge".

"It just gives us the motivation to keep going and keep pushing so we can't thank them enough for coming out," Gaudreau said. "It really helps us out."

The Sting are back on the ice Saturday evening to face the Saginaw Spirit at the Dow Event Centre.

"We know where Saginaw is and we're pretty close to them in points so we [have] to make sure that we come up with the two points [on Saturday]," said Hill.

Puck drop for Saturday's game is set for 7:05 p.m. Sting games can be heard live on CHOK (1070AM/103.9FM).
