A Sarnia man is facing multiple charges following two brazen robberies, including one with a weapon, near the city's downtown Friday.
Police said the suspect attended a shop near Christina Street and Derby Lane, put on multiple articles of clothing and picked out several items of food before attending the cash register.
It's alleged the man then jumped onto the store counter and began taking money from the register, leading to a struggle with the cashier. The female employee grabbed onto the suspect's legs before she was pushed away by the man into shelving, damaging several items. Police said fortunately, the woman did not suffer serious injuries.
After the suspect fled the scene, he tried and failed to enter a locked apartment building, damaging the door in the process.
The suspect continued southbound and entered the back of a delivery truck where he confronted the driver with a sharp object while demanding money. The victim handed over his wallet and the suspect fled the scene.
Police located the man hopping a 10 foot fence on George Street and continued to pursue the suspect. During the chase, the suspect was running directly towards another officer who deployed his Taser which caused the suspect to fall to the ground. The 27-year-old man was arrested after a brief struggle.
The accused, Terrell Anthony Sullivan, is charged with robbery with theft, robbery with a weapon, two counts of failing to comply with release, three counts of mischief under $5,000, theft under $5,000 and resisting a peace officer.
Sullivan was in custody pending a bail hearing.
