GatewayGIVES to help humanitarian efforts in Ukraine

Local employees at Gateway Casinos Sarnia are supporting humanitarian efforts in Ukraine.

Through the company's charitable and community engagement program GatewayGIVES, employees will donate $2,100 to the Canadian Red Cross.

Employees, representatives from Unifor Local 444 and Teamsters Local 879, held several fundraising activities in March and April including a blue and yellow ribbon campaign.

Gateway Casino Sarnia General Manager Linda McColl said the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine is devastating and the employees wanted to do their small part to help.

"Our GatewayGives program provides an opportunity for our employees to make a difference in our community," said McColl.

Funds will support the Red Cross teams on the ground in Ukraine and surrounding countries as they continue to provide life-saving humanitarian assistance to those affected.
