Ribbon cutting held at Petrolia Library

Recent renovations at the Petrolia Library have officially been unveiled.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Wednesday.

The library reopened in May following a five-week closure to allow for upgrades and repairs. Improvements included new flooring, new furnishings, and the installation of an early literacy station in the children’s library.

The renovation project was funded by a donation from the estate of Otto and Kathleen Shuldt.

"We are so appreciative of the generosity of Mr. and Mrs. Schuldt, and for their gift acknowledging that our library is a gathering place for the residents of Petrolia and area," said Mayor Brad Loosley. "I am very pleased to see the facility updates and improvements to this beautiful heritage building and that the space will continue to serve families for many years.”

The Petrolia Library is open from Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Hours of operation on Friday and Saturday are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday, the library is open from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
