Highest paid public sector employees in Sarnia-Lambton revealed

The salaries of the highest paid public sector employees in Sarnia-Lambton have been released.

The rundown of those making $100,000 or more, in salary and taxable benefits, in 2021 was revealed through the Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act.

Lambton County Medical Officer of Health Dr. Sudit Ranade earned $332,460 in 2021, followed by Bluewater Health President and CEO Mike Lapaine at $319,546.

Lambton County's CAO Ron Van Horne was paid $224,948, while the county's Corporate Services General Manager Stephane Thiffeault made $206,666.

255 City of Sarnia employees met the threshold and the salaries of three individuals topped $200,000.

Chief Administrative Officer Chris Carter was paid $219,501, Corporate Services General Manager David Logan, who left the city in December, made $210,847, and Sarnia police chief Norm Hansen made $210,687.

Lambton Kent District School Board Director John Howitt earned $219,636, while St. Clair Catholic District School Board Director Scott Johnson, who took over the role from Deb Crawford in October, made $197,258.

Lambton College President and CEO Rob Kardas earned $230,084, while his predecessor Judith Morris, who retired at the end of June, was paid $324,163 in 2021.
