The Sarnia Sting are looking to get a head start on player recruitment and development this offseason.
Registration is now open for two summer camps, run through the Sarnia Sting Hockey Academy, presented by Canadian Tire.
The 2022 Future Sting Summer Camp will be held from July 18 to 22 at Progressive Auto Sales Arena, for 2009 to 2017 birth years.
The week-long camp will welcome all skill levels, and there will be the opportunity to learn from members of the Sarnia Sting coaching staff with special guest appearances from Sarnia Sting players.
During each of the five camp days, players will take part in an hour long on-ice session with their age group focusing on skating, shooting and stick handling.
More details on how to register can be found here.
The other camp is Pro Foundations by Sting Associate Coach Brad Staubitz.
It provides NHL caliber training exclusively for junior, college, and professional players as well as AAA players from the U16 age group or older.
The eight week long strength and condition program, which starts on July 4 and costs $1,200 per skater, includes four workouts per week from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., Mondays through Thursdays, with 7 a.m. on-ice sessions running every Tuesday and Thursday in August.
The program includes time at both the Lambton College Fitness Centre as well as Progressive Auto Sales Arena and will focus on base training, strength, power, as well as power and endurance.
Qualified applicants who meet the prerequisite of playing either U16+ AAA, junior, college, or professional hockey are invited to apply.
