Lambton Shores is looking for a new fire chief.
Chief Administrative Officer Steve McAuley has confirmed with SarniaNewsToday.ca that Lawrence Swift is no longer with the municipality, but wouldn't specify a reason for the departure.
"As with any personal matter, the municipality will not make any comments with regards to the individual or any of the particulars," McAuley added. "I can also confirm that Deputy Chief Dave McLean has assumed the role of acting fire chief for the municipality."
McAuley said plans for hiring a new full-time fire chief were underway.
"We expect to advertise the position shortly. As we begin the transition to new leadership within the fire department, I want to thank the women and men who make up our volunteer fire service for their professionalism during the process and their continued commitment to the community. Operations remain unaffected and our firefighters continue to dedicate their time to ongoing training and emergency preparedness to ensure help is available to the residents of Lambton Shores when they need it most," he said.
