There's a major change to this year's annual labour day parade through downtown Sarnia.
Because of construction on Front Street, the celebration of Sarnia's workforce is being held along Christina Street, starting near Wellington Street.
They'll continue north up Christina, and past Sarnia City Hall.
Sarnia and District Labour Council President Nick Dochstader said there are 32 entrants this year, and over 3,300 people will be taking part.
"The building trades are represented, along with a lot of the public sector workers," said Dochstader. "That includes the teachers, the nurses, and most of the folks that staff our schools and hospitals. Most of them are unionized people, and we represent all of them. This is meant to celebrate all workers."
Dochstader is hoping for a big crowd to come out and show support.
"It would be wonderful if people could make it out and recognize the folks that build the area, and staff all of the services that everyone enjoys in our area. It's just a day to recognize those folks."
Dochstader said Sarnia's very first labour day parade was held 121 years ago.
Judges will be stationed in front of city hall, and will be voting on categories like best union float, best band, best commercial entry and best non-commercial entry.
This year’s theme is "organize, mobilize, and power up."
The parade gets underway at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, September 4.
