Sarnia's Art in the Park drawing closer

Over 100 artisans will be selling their hand-made work in Bright's Grove this weekend.

The 41st annual Art in the Park, put on by the Rotary Club of Sarnia-Bluewaterland, goes Saturday, September 9 in Mike Weir Park from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Former club presidents Henry Kulik and Marie Watson said they're expecting more than 5,000 people to attend. Kulik said those attending will have plenty to check out.

"We have 115 exhibitors coming from right across southwestern Ontario, but luckily the one that's furthest away is from the Toronto area," he said. "Now they do come for this one day event because they get a good crowd and they make a lot of money."

Kulik said it's original work by the crafters.

"Basically all of the product there is made by these individuals," he said. "So, nobody is reselling something that somebody else made."

Watson said they'll have live music from the Lambton County Brass. She also had a reminder for those thinking about attending.

"People may not like me for this, but it's the beginning of Christmas shopping for a lot of people," said Watson.

Kulik said they'll have plenty of activities for kids and that it's a family-focused kind of event.

"And that's the intent, that there's something for everybody that shows up on the day," he said.

Entrance is by donation. For more information click here.
