#charitable launches live game show fundraiser

The Hashtag Charitable Foundation (#charitable) has organized a new fundraiser, inspired by the game show Let's Make a Deal.

A live game show event called "What's Your Deal?!" will be held at Imperial City Brew House on February 26. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Executive Director Rich Bouchard said like the popular TV game show, contestants will be encouraged to wear costumes and compete to win prizes.

"We just thought it would be another fun aspect of the evening," Bouchard said. "Many people in Race to Erase (an annual spring fundraiser organized by #charitable) dress up so I think there are folks in the community that would take that on."

Prizes will feature Sarnia-Lambton businesses, including an in-home dinner prepared by Chef Paresh from Personal Touch Eatery & Catering, a suite at a Sarnia Sting game, and free haircuts for a year from Halo Hair Salon.

Bouchard said 150 tickets will be sold for the event. As of mid-January, about 1/3 of tickets had been sold.

Tickets are $50 and can be purchased at Halo Hair Salon on London Road, Caryl Baker Visage in Lambton Mall, and Great Lakes Refill Co on Christina Street North.

Money raised will support Noelle’s Gift to Children, River City Vineyard, Literacy Lambton, and Habitat for Humanity Sarnia-Lambton.

Bouchard said Denise Cortez of EXIT Realty is one of the event's presenting sponsors and the foundation is actively working with others as well.

He said local businesses interested in working with #charitable are encouraged to contact the foundation
