Alleged impaired driver nabbed at Blue Water Bridge

An alleged impaired driver was arrested at the Blue Water Bridge over the weekend.

Just before 9 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, Lambton OPP were asked to respond to the international border crossing by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) regarding a possible impaired driver.

A 43-year-old Camlachie man returning from the United States was administered a roadside screening and arrested.

OPP said breath samples taken at the Petrolia detachment indicated the driver's blood alcohol level was over twice the legal limit.

He's charged with operation while impaired and operation with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.  His vehicle was also impounded for seven days.
