Theatre Sarnia has unveiled its productions for the 2024-2025 season.
Five new shows will take the stage at Imperial Theatre.
The season kicks off on September 20 with the Broadway adaption of Cinderella and will close in May with the musical Rent.
Imperial Theatre Executive Director Brian Austin Jr. said the new season will offer something for everyone.
"From the magical enchantment of Cinderella to the intense thrilling drama of Misery we've curated a lineup that celebrates the diversity and transformative power of theatre," he said.
Following Cinderella, Theatre Sarnia will be hosting a romantic comedy "The Last Romance" from October 23 to 27.
In February, the local theatre will be putting on a production of the thriller Misery, based on the novel by Stephen King.
Austin Jr. said this is the first time Theatre Sarnia has done a thriller.
"The show the way it's written lends itself to feeling claustrophobic and you can't escape, so to grip an audience like that and hold them I'm most excited for that," he said.
In April, Dianne Visser will be directing the comedy and drama of "Mom's Gift".
The season then finishes with Rent from May 23 to May 31, 2025.
Austin Jr. said there's been positive feedback about the upcoming shows.
"There's a lot of excitement for Misery and of course the closer being Rent people are excited about that too," he said.
People wanting to get subscriptions or tickets can do so already at a lower cost.
Early bird pricing is available until Saturday.
Austin Jr. said the current production of The Little Mermaid has boosted ticket sales for next season.
"They are selling really well. It's also the best way to see a Theatre Sarnia season. It's really inexpensive compared to some other options," he said.
Tickets can be purchased on the Imperial Theatre website or residents can contact the box office at 519-344-7469.
