Sarnia Fire and Rescue battled an early morning blaze on Tecumseh Street Friday.
Firefighters responded at around 3:30 a.m. to a large structure fire near Rose Street.
In a post to social media, Sarnia Fire and Rescue said crews battled through very tough conditions, but were able to knock down the flames in just over three hours.
Sarnia Fire and Rescue said when firefighters arrived smoke was found from the rear driveshed on the property.
"This shed was located behind a smaller industrial building, with a narrow laneway to access it. The property was secured, which further complicated the response," a news release said.
Firefighters separated the shed into two sections with the east section having the heaviest fire involvement.
The news release said the second storey in the area collapsed onto the first storey, severely compromising the building.
The roof structure in the building was compromised as well.
The cause of the fire is undetermined because of the structural instability of the building and a damage estimate is not currently available.
No injuries are reported, and a family dog feared lost in the fire was located and is fine.
During the investigation, firefighters found out that e-bike Li-ion batteries were being charged in that section of the building.
Sarnia Fire and Rescue is reminding the public to take every precaution with lithium-ion batteries.
