OPP arrest 'erratic' driver after multiple complaints

A 38-year-old Sarnia man is facing charges after Lambton OPP say a dangerous driver failed to stop for officers.

On July 19, 2024, just before 1 p.m., police received a report of a suspicious vehicle at an address on Egremont Road in Plympton-Wyoming.

Police said an officer on patrol spotted the vehicle being driven erratically and attempted a traffic stop, but the vehicle allegedly failed to stop for police.

At around 3:35 p.m., a concerned resident alerted police about a suspicious vehicle at an address on Little Ireland Road in Alvinston.

The vehicle was captured on video surveillance, and police said it matched the one from the first incident.

The OPP arrested the suspect on July 21, after a brief investigation.

The accused is charged with dangerous operation, flight from a peace officer, and assault with a weapon.

He was being held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia.
