Members of Kettle and Stony Point First Nation have the next month to decide whether they'd like to run for band council.
A nomination meeting is planned on Thursday, September 26 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Hillside School Gym.
Electors will be asked to nominate candidates for the next term.
Electoral Officer Veronica McLeod said they'll be looking to fill one chief position, and nine councillor positions.
"The election will be held at the same location, Kettle and Stony Point First Nation Hillside School Gym on the 8th day of November 2024," McLeod said in a notice shared to the First Nation's website.
McLeod said any voter may nominate candidates by using a mail-in nomination form.
"You can either deliver or mail-in a written nomination and a completed, signed and witnessed voter declaration form to the electoral officer before the time set for the nomination meeting or you can nominate candidates orally at the nomination meeting," she added.
Mail-in forms can be obtained from McLeod.
She also noted that any voter can vote by mail-in ballot in the election.
"If you will not be available to vote in person on the polling day, you may make arrangements with the electoral officer to receive a ballot," McLeod said.
The notice, which includes contact information for McLeod, is posted here.
