A 28-year-old Sarnia man faces drug and weapons charges after city police pulled over a vehicle in the area of Confederation Street and Indian Road, early Wednesday morning.
Police said one of the men falsely identified himself, and the other had warrants for his arrest stemming from a previous investigation.
The passenger with warrants was arrested, despite allegedly resisting the officer's attempts to place him in handcuffs.
Police seized a loaded flare gun, 15 hydromorphone tablets (dilaudid), 5.6 grams of fentanyl, 15 additional rounds for the flare gun, and two knives, one of which was a folding knife in the shape of a firearm.
The 28-year-old is charged with the following offences:
-Resist Peace Officer
-Firearm - Use While Committing Offence
-Careless Storage of a Firearm
-Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose (x3)
-Carry a Concealed Weapon (x3)
-Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
-Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
-Occupant of a Motor Vehicle Knowing there was a Firearm
-Possess Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order (x3)
-Possess Schedule I Substance - Hydromorphone
-Possess Schedule I Substance - Fentanyl

A 19-year-old from Toronto was charged with obstructing a peace officer.
Both men were held overnight by Sarnia police for a bail hearing.
They have since been released by the courts with future court dates.
