Sting beat Flint after three goal third period

Sarnia’s mini two game slide is over after a come from behind win against the Flint Firebirds.

The Sting hosted the Firebirds Sunday afternoon and came away with a 6-5 win.

The first two goals went to Flint as Jimmy Lombardi and Max Anderson each scored before ten minutes had passed in the first period.

Easton Wainwright would get the Sting within one before the period ended, netting his 2nd of the season. James Barr and Hughston Hurt got the assists on the goal.

Daylen Moses tied the game early in the second period, getting his 1st of the year.

Flint was able to get their two-goal lead back rather quickly as Lombardi and Nathan Aspinall both found the back of the net.

The two sides would exchange goals to end the second period, Wainwright getting his second of the game for the Sting followed by Cole Zurawski for Flint.

Heading into the third period, Sarnia trailed 5-3.

The Sting tied the game before five minutes had passed in the third period. Ryan Brown tallied both goals, his first two of the season.
