Election day at Kettle and Stony Point First Nation

A new band council will be elected at Kettle and Stony Point First Nation Friday.

Residents can mark their ballot in person at the poll set up in the gymnasium at the Hillside School from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Three individuals are running for the position of chief.

Current Chief Kimberly Bressette is seeking a second term, former Chief Jason Henry wants to be re-elected (after being defeated by Bressette in 2022) and Wesley Monague is challenging them.

There are 45 people on the ballot looking to be elected to one of nine councillor positions for the 2024 to 2026 term.
