Impaired driving charges laid in Lambton crashes

Lambton OPP is reminding motorists to not jeopardize other people's safety on roadways after impaired driving charges were laid in two separate collisions.

A two-vehicle crash was reported on November 29 at around 10:50 p.m. on Broadway Street in Wyoming.

No injuries were reported.

Police said a 33-year-old Enniskillen Township man was charged with operation while impaired (alcohol and drugs), having a blood-alcohol concentration of 80 plus, and dangerous operation.

In addition to the charges, he was issued a 90-day administrative driver's license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.

The accused will answer to the charges in the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on January 14, 2025.

Meanwhile, a 43-year-old London man was charged following a single-vehicle crash in Lambton Shores on November 29.

OPP said the collision was reported just after 1:20 p.m. on Haig Line at Blain Road.

Police said the driver wasn't injured.

He was charged with operation while impaired (alcohol and drugs) and operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus). The accused was also issued a 90-day administrative driver's license suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment.

A court date was scheduled for January 15, 2025.

Provincial police are encouraging those who see anything suspicious or suspect an impaired driver to contact OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
