UPDATE: Franceschetti, Doucette handed suspensions

Sarnia Sting forward JJ Franceschetti has been suspended for a total of five games.

The Ontario Hockey League (OHL) announced the decision on Friday.

On Saturday, December 28, Franceschetti was handed a fighting major and a game misconduct for being the aggressor after an altercation with Saginaw defenceman Josh Glavin.

The OHL Department of Player Safety said "the Sarnia player demonstrated willful negligence in his actions toward his opponent, continuing his aggression despite having the opportunity to recognize that his opponent had elected not to engage in the altercation."

Franceschetti has already served two games of his suspension, and is eligible to return to the lineup on January 17 against Sudbury.

Meanwhile, the Sting's Tyson Doucette has been suspended for three games.

He received a five minute major penalty for crosschecking and a game misconduct during the game on January 1 against London.
