Over a dozen charges laid in BWB safety blitz

A joint traffic safety initiative involving commercial vehicles at the Blue Water Bridge has resulted in over a dozen charges being laid.

Lambton OPP partnered with the Ontario Ministry of Transportation and the Federal Bridge Corporation.

On Wednesday, January 8, officers conducted nine commercial vehicle inspections.

OPP said 13 charges were laid for improper use of a border approach lane, hours of service non-compliance, window tint exceeding legal limits, and expired Commercial Vehicle Operator Registration.

Provincial police are reminding commercial drivers to always use the correct approach lane when travelling across the border, follow posted signs, and remain in the designated lane to help make crossings safe and efficient.
