Erratic man arrested after hurling death threats

A man is facing charges after allegedly threatening several people Sunday morning in Sarnia.

City police said at around 11 a.m. on January 26, they were alerted to a series of escalating incidents involving a man in the area of London Road and Brock Street North.

It's alleged the man verbally confronted a female driver in an aggressive manner while she was sitting at a red light at an intersection.

She was able to leave safely when the light turned green and the suspect then headed east on London Road where police said he threatened to stab a pedestrian without provocation.

The pedestrian called police after distancing himself from the suspect.

Police said the erratic suspect eventually ended up sitting on a porch of a nearby home and when the homeowners returned from a walk, he hurled death threats at them.

Responding officers located the suspect at the intersection of Christina Street and London Road and arrested him without further incident.

The 35-year-old is charged with two counts of uttering death threats, causing a disturbance and criminal harassment.

He was released on a judicial release order.

The Sarnia Police Service is extending its gratitude to the public for their vigilance and cooperation in this matter.
