A long standing popular Chinese restaurant in downtown Sarnia is expected to be busy for the Lunar New Year.
Owner of Tang's China House Lillian Tang-Smith said they have a special dine-in menu lined up for the celebration.
"So our chefs have been working up a storm, testing recipes and we have some fun things including more traditional dishes which is a steamed fish with ginger and scallions, to something a little more modern which is the ginger carrot soup which has a Thai influence to it," said Tang-Smith.
She said they also have some added gifts for patrons who order off the special menu.
"They'll get a little red packet, which is the lucky red envelope at the end of the night," said Tang-Smith. "Typically you would put money in it, we just have chocolate coins, but it's the thought that counts."
The special menu will be available until February 9, and Tang-Smith said reservations are encouraged.
The Lunar New Year is regarded as the most popular holiday in China and Chinese communities around the world.
The holiday celebrates the arrival of spring and the start of a fresh year based on the Chinese lunisolar calendar.
The 15-day festival falls between January 29 and February 4.
