Sarnia Sting drop seventh in a row, 7-3 to Saginaw

The Sarnia Sting dropped their seventh loss in a row Monday, 7-3 to the visiting Saginaw Spirit.

Ruslan Karimov opened the scoring for the Sting in the first period.

Saginaw followed up with two goals for a 2-1 lead heading into the second period.

Daylen Moses hit the back of the net for Sarnia scoring the lone goal in the second period.

Saginaw responded with five unanswered goals in the third before Sarnia's Beckham Edwards would make it 7-3.

Evan Maillet was the starting goaltender for Sarnia tallying 31 saves on 38 shots.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
