The Sarnia Police Service (SPS) says a recent traffic stop resulted in the seizure of stolen property and drugs.
A investigation had been launched in January into thefts from vehicles in the city.
Police were able to identify several people believed to be responsible for the thefts, as well as where stolen property was being sold and traded.
On Tuesday, city police observed a stolen Kubota skid steer, valued at $75,000, being loaded onto a trailer at a residence on Cobden Street.
Police conducted a traffic stop on the U-Haul truck hauling the trailer. It's alleged once the vehicle came to a stop, a man took off on foot.
He was found and arrested a few blocks away with the help of the SPS K9 Vader.
Two other suspects in the U-Haul were arrested for possession of stolen property.
Along with the stolen skid steer, police also seized 13.9 grams of methamphetamine, digital scales and $2,400 in cash.
A few hours later, members of the Sarnia Police Service Intelligence Unit, with help from the Emergency Response Team (ERT), Canine and Identification Unit, Major Case Action Team and uniform patrol officers, executed a search warrant at a home on Cobden Street.
Police allegedly seized a large stash of what is believed to be stolen property including tools, bikes and toys.
A 33-year-old Sarnia woman, a 70-year-old Sarnia man and a 55-year-old man were arrested and face several charges including possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
The Sarnia Police Service has also obtained an arrest warrant for a 42-year-old man, and anticipate further arrests as the investigation continues.
Police are analyzing the recovered property and attempting to identify the rightful owners.
