Cristian Suffi of Chatham and Katelyn (Katie) Murphy of Sarnia have been appointed as next year's student trustees for the St. Clair Catholic District School Board (SCCDSB).
Suffi is an honour roll student at Ursuline College Chatham, and is described as a "well-rounded" student with academic and extracurricular achievements. The school board said he is also fluent in English and Italian, bringing a global perspective to the leadership role.
Murphy is a student at St. Patrick’s Catholic High School and currently holds the position of Minister of Faith on student council. The school board said the "faith-driven student" is an active member of various school and community service clubs.

The two will represent Chatham-Kent and Sarnia-Lambton students during board discussions.
“Having student voice at our table is a powerful reminder of who we serve and why our work matters,” said Incoming Director of Education Lisa Demers. “Cristian and Katie are both outstanding leaders who embody the mission and values of Catholic education.”
The SCCDSB congratulated both students and said it looks forward to their contributions during the 2025-2026 school year.
