Election day in Canada

Polls open at 9:30 a.m. Monday for Canada's 45th general election.

There are seven candidates running in Sarnia-Lambton-Bkejwanong.

Conservative incumbent Marilyn Gladu is running against Liberal candidate George Vandenberg, NDP candidate Lo-Anne Chan, and Libertarian Jacques Boudreau.

Brian Everaert is running for the People's Party of Canada, Mark Lamore is carrying the banner for the Christian Heritage Party and Tony Mitchell is representing the Rhinoceros Party of Canada.

Voters across the country will elect 343 members of parliament

Polls will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

To be eligible to vote you must be 18 years old or older and a Canadian citizen.

You're reminded to bring along with you government-issued identification and your voter information card.

If you're not registered to vote, you can do so online at Elections Canada or at your assigned polling station on election day.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
