Sarnia School of Irish Dance presents 'A Celtic Evening'

Irish dancers, musicians and singers will take to the stage Saturday night at the Imperial Theatre.

The Sarnia School of Irish Dance will present its 2025 edition of 'A Celtic Evening' on May 3.

Spokesperson Mairin Ring said it's an opportunity for them to showcase what they've been working on all year.

"We also have other Celtic performers that join us showcasing what they do," said Ring. "The Highland dancers from Sarnia will perform a few pieces, we have singers, musicians, recitation."

Ring said special guest and award-winning Canadian contemporary folk group Maggie's Wake will also perform.

"This year they won the new emerging artist of the year award at Canadian Folk Music Awards, so we're pretty chuffed about having them back," she said.

The Sarnia School of Irish Dance, located at 500 Exmouth Street, was formed in 1997 and has students ranging from four-years-old to adult.

"We have four different classes," said Ring. "We have adults, a couple that are teenagers and senior and then we have our novices. Sometimes we have some really little ones that do look very cute. It also happens that the group of our youngest dancers, they've now been around for two or three years and although they're still quite young, they're actually quite polished."

Showtime Saturday is at 7 p.m.

Tickets are available at the Imperial Theatre Box Office

They are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and children under 12 years old.
