Cooling centres are open across Lambton County as an extended heat warning continues.
Environment Canada issued a heat warning for the region on Saturday.
Lambton Public Health released a statement on Monday, advising residents to protect themselves against heat-related illnesses.
During this heat wave, residents are encouraged to drink plenty of fluids -- especially water, to reschedule or plan outdoor activities during cooler parts of the day, to wear loose-fitting and light-coloured clothing, and to spend time in cool places.
Cooling centres include libraries, the Housing & Homelessness Resource Centre, the Petrolia YMCA, the Brooke-Alvinston-Inwood Community Centre Complex, and the Mooretown Sports Complex.
A full list can be found on the health unit's website.
Residents are also encouraged to regularly check in on neighbours, friends, and older family members.
Information about extreme heat is also available by calling Lambton Public Health at (519) 383-8331 or toll-free at 1-800-667-1839.
