A 37-year-old man is facing a few charges for allegedly shoplifting $246 worth of items from a store he was banned from attending.
Sarnia police said an officer went to a store on Murphy Road regarding another matter on August 11 at 9:42 p.m.
Police said the suspect was seen concealing items in a large backpack, including razor blades and shaving materials. He later purchased some of the items in his cart but not all, nor did he pay for the multiple items in his bag.
He was arrested after he tried to leave the store.
Police discovered he was under two probation orders and bail conditions, which specified he was not allowed to attend this specific store.
As a result, he was charged with theft under $5,000, failure to comply with release order, and failure to comply with probation.
City police said he was released by the court with conditions.
