Classic cars featured at 'birthplace of Canada's oil industry'

The Oil Museum of Canada will highlight the connection between automobiles and the region's unique oil industry during the Wheels & Wells Car Show.

The car show is scheduled to take place, rain or shine, on Saturday, August 23.

The event will feature classic cars -- as well as an awards show at 2 p.m., oil history trivia, and a 50/50 lottery. Auto-themed artifacts will also be on display for guests to learn about.

“The Wheels & Wells Car Show offers a unique experience you won’t find anywhere else – classic cars displayed at the birthplace of Canada’s oil industry,” said Oil Museum Marketing and Events Coordinator Jessica Stevenson. “Whether you’re a car enthusiast or history buff, this event has something special to offer!”

Classic cars will be on display from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Admission is free for spectators, but donations are welcome.

Vehicle registration (for all makes and models) will begin at 9:30 a.m. by donation, however, the museum suggests $10 per vehicle.

Donations will support museum events and programming, exhibitions, and collections.

The Petrolia Lions Club will be at the event, selling food and drinks.

Further details about the event can be found on the Lambton County Museums website.
