The Sarnia Sting have added some depth at the goaltending position.
The OHL club has acquired 18-year-old Charlie Larocque from the North Bay Battalion for a sixth round draft pick in 2029.
Sting General Manager Dylan Seca commented on the move.
"We wanted to add to our goaltending depth, Charlie is an athletic goalie with good size, and potential,” said Seca. "He’s been to an NHL camp, and is someone we believe can take the next step in his development."
Larocque attended Toronto Maple Leafs camp this year as a free agent.
Last season, with North Bay, he posted a 3-10-1 record, 4.50 goals against average, and .851 save percentage.
He joins Patrick Quinlan and Evan Maillet in the Sting crease.
Quinlan left Sunday's game against Flint after taking a high hit.
The team is 2-2 early in the season, and will return to the ice on Friday at home to the Niagara IceDogs.
