Over 70 vendors expected for colour and craft festival

A popular autumn tradition returns to the Lambton Heritage Museum this weekend.

The annual Lambton Fall Colour and Craft Festival features a juried artisan market, family-friendly crafts, and historical demonstrations.

There will be over 70 vendors on hand, selling handmade products.

They include art and home décor, bath products and candles, clothing and apparel, food and beverage, jewelry, needlework and textiles, pottery, signs, and woodworking.

The Judith and Norman Alix Art Gallery will lead an autumn leaves-inspired craft in the historic Rokeby School.

It's also a great opportunity to catch the travelling exhibit "A Taste of Science" before it closes October 25.

The event is the museum's largest annual fundraiser, and this year's proceeds will go towards the Canatara Cabin restoration project.

They're sitting at over $65,000 toward the $100,000 campaign.

Marketing and Events Coordinator with Lambton County Museums and Archives Jessica Stevenson is excited.

"The Lambton Fall Colour and Craft Festival is a seasonal tradition where you can get a head start on your holiday shopping, discover handcrafted treasures, watch historical demonstrations, and enjoy the stunning backdrop of autumn colours," said Stevenson, "We’re excited for visitors to see the progress we’ve made on the Canatara Cabin project. This year’s festival proceeds will go towards completing the project and preserving Lambton County’s history for years to come."

Admission is $5 cash per person and children aged 12 and under are free when accompanied by an adult.

The festival is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, October 18 and Sunday, October 19.
