The Sarnia Sting fell to the visiting London Knights 3-0 Sunday.
Netminder Patrick Quinlan stopped 23 of 25 shots for the Sting (4-6-2-0) who were outshot by London (7-2-3-0) 26-21.
London's third goal came with the Sting net empty.
Strathory’s Rene Van Bommel scored a goal for London, and Watford’s Evan Van Gorp added a pair of assists.
Sting Coach Alan Letang said the loss kind of felt like a step backwards.
"You don't win a lot of hockey games in the western conference in the OHL if you don't outwork the team you're playing against," said Letang. "Give the Knights a lot of credit, they came in and they competed shift after shift, period after period and we couldn't consistently match their competitiveness."
Captain Lukas Fischer said they didn't start the way they wanted to.
"I don't think the compete was there," said Fischer. "I think it was there at times, but you know against a team that plays this way, a team has gone to the finals three years in a row, they know how to play the right way. So, for us to come out, we've got to find a way to match that and tonight we didn't."
Sunday's loss follows a 3-1 loss to the visiting Brantford Bulldogs.
