The Western Sarnia-Lambton Research Park has welcomed two new tenants.
Clover IQ, a global technology company based in Dallas, Texas, and Steward Group, a Canadian wealth management and financial advisory firm, moved in this fall.
"We've got a very innovative mix of tenants here developing at the parks, and it's steadily increasing our occupancy numbers," said Dr. Katherine Albion, the Executive Director of Western Sarnia-Lambton Research Park. "We're starting to see increases in inquiries from companies outside of Sarnia-Lambton, so we're attracting and retaining new business here."
Clover IQ and Steward Group are not the only new tenants to move in over the last year, as nine new companies have moved into the park since January.
"We're seeing momentum again, there's a lot of positive things happening here, we've got a lot of external events as well as some new collaborations we're exploring," said Albion.
The new tenants come as the park faces financial problems and is going through a transitional phase as it looks to increase tenancy to create more value.
"We're still working through our transition, we are continuing to show results in terms of new tenants, new companies, (and) new investments here locally," said Albion.
The park is currently at 70 per cent capacity, with the new tenants and eight existing tenants expanding their operations this year.
