One dead in workplace incident in Forest

The Ministry of Labour is investigating after one person was killed in a workplace incident in Forest.

Lambton OPP said emergency crews were called to a Douglas Line business just before 4 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9.

Police said a 38-year-old from London sustained life-threatening injuries while working on equipment.

The individual was taken to a hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

Sarnia News Today reached out to the ministry for further details but did not receive a response at the time of publication.

*Update: A response was received via email shortly after 1:20 p.m.

“It was reported that a worker sustained fatal injury when struck by an equipment. Ministry inspectors have been assigned to investigate. As the investigation is ongoing, no further details are available at this time,” read a statement from the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development.
