A 35-year-old man accused of punching a security guard in the face has been charged with robbery.
Sarnia police officers were called to a Quinn Drive retailer on Thursday, December 18, at 3:50 p.m.
The suspect allegedly stole a jacket from a store and became aggressive when the security guard tried to stop him.
Police said the security guard was not injured.
The suspect was later arrested on Exmouth Street.
During this time, police said the accused was on probation with orders to be on good behaviour.
He was charged with robbery with theft and failure to comply with probation.
The accused was held in custody following a bail hearing.
The Sarnia Police Service also noted that this was their 26th interaction with the accused this past year, which included nine arrests and 16 charges.
