Strong southerly winds are expected to develop Friday morning with gusts up to 60 or 70 km/h possible. These winds are expected to further strengthen later in the afternoon or early evening and become more westerly with gusts of 70 to 90 km/h possible.

Winds are expected to ease later Friday night as the system responsible moves east of the region.

A 61-year-old Point Edward man is facing charges after an altercation near the waterfront last Wednesday morning.Just before 10 a.m., Lambton OPP were called about a disturbance involving two individuals in the area of Fort Street.Police said one person suffered minor injuries.Darrin Daamen is charged with assault, assault with a weapon, and mischief.He was released and is set to appear in court on January 26, 2026.Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.Those wishing to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
