Another cold weather alert has been issued by Lambton Public Health (LPH).
Lambton County’s Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Karalyn Dueck, has issued a cold weather alert based on the latest forecast from Environment Canada predicting the temperature to drop below -15 C Tuesday night.
The alert, the fourth since January 19, is expected to remain in effect until Thursday, February 5.
LPH advises local agencies that provide shelter and assistance to those experiencing homelessness to prepare for an increase in demand.
We're being told to take precautions by dressing in layers, shielding exposed areas from the wind, and limiting time outdoors.
LPH said overexposure to cold can be hazardous and even life-threatening. Symptoms of hypothermia include pale skin, lethargy, confusion, excessive shivering, and hallucinations.
