Sting Lose 4-1 In Ottawa

Sarnia lost for the second straight night on the road, this time a 4-1 decision to the 67's.

Ottawa opened up a 2-0 first period lead as the Sting got into a bit of penalty trouble in the opening frame. Only one of Ottawa's goals came on the powerplay, but were able to build one the momentum gained from three first period powerplays.

Pavel Zacha was the best player for Sarnia, and got the Sting on the scoreboard with an unassisted powerplay goal five minutes into the second. Ottawa would regain the two goal lead just 10 minutes later and would take the 3-1 lead into the second intermission.

The third period was Sarnia's best but they just couldn't solve Leo Lazarev, who won his third straight game for Ottawa. The 67's would add an empty netter to cap off the 4-1 win.

Justin Fazio started his ninth straight for Sarnia, stopping 24 of 27 shots. The numbers didn't do Fazio justice as he made a handful of big saves to keep the Sting within striking distance.

After dropping the first two games Sarnia will look to salvage the road trip Sunday afternoon at 2pm against the Kingston Frontenacs. The pregame show starts at 1:35 on CHOK.
