The Sarnia Sting's losing streak has reached a season high nine games.
Afetr Sarnia goalie Ethan Lagevin misplayed the puck behind the net Oshawa's Ryan Gagnier scored with 38 seconds left in regulation to launch the Generals to a 4-3 victory before 2,830 fans at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena Friday.
The Sting opened the scoring with Jacob Perreault's 25th goal of the season at the 5:16 mark of the opening period with assists from Nolan Burke and Ty Voit.
Voit, with his second of the season, made it 2-0 at 9:06 of the first frame assisted by Perreault and Burke.
35 seconds later Philip Tomasino scored for the Generals.
In the second period Tomasino scored a short handed goal to tie the game.
Before the period ended Oshawa would get its first lead of the game on a goal from Allan McShane during a power play.
At 11:42 of the third period Justin Nolet tied the game for Sarnia with his sixth goal of the season with assists going to Voit and Sam Bitten.
Voit said it was a tough loss. "The boys came out great this night. I thought it was one of our best efforts also but we should be able to pop out of it soon. We've got the team to do it."
The Sting are on the road to Hamilton Saturday afternoon and in Erie Sunday afternoon.
Voit said "Our leaders talked to us in the locker room. What we did today there was nothing wrong with that. We just got a little unlucky. If we bring that tomorrow and the next day we should be alright."
Both games can be heard on CHOK with Saturday's pregame show starting at 3:35 p.m.
Sarnia's Ethan Langevin stopped 18 shots while former Sting Jordan Kooy made 26 saves.
