Sarnia Sting snap nine game losing streak

The Sarnia Sting beat the Windsor Spitfires 7-4 in OHL action Saturday night to snap a nine game losing streak.

Sarnia was the first team on the board early into the first period with goals by Ty Voit and Justin O'Donnell. It was O'Donnell's first career OHL goal.

Windsor tied the game 2-2 in the second period but the Sting pulled ahead 3-2 late in the frame.

Sarnia scored twice in the third to open up a 5-2 advantage on the Spitfires. Windsor scored two of their own to edge closer 5-4. It wasn't enough as the Sting potted two more goals, including an empty netter, to seal the win.

Forward Jacob Perreault scored three goals and Ethan Langevin stopped 41 of 45 shots on net in the win.

Perreault says Friday's overtime loss to the Spitfires gave them the push to bounce back in Windsor.

"I thought we played a full 60 minutes which is what we need to do every night and we pulled out with a win, so I'm pretty sure if we do that every night we can win every game if we wanted to," said Perreault.
