New and familiar faces join Sarnia Sting operations

Michael Haley and Dustin Jeffrey will be back behind the bench for the Sarnia Sting.

The hockey club announced Friday that both assistant coaches have signed on for another season and will continue to work alongside Head Coach Alan Letang.

"Both coaches bring the player development experience, tactical and technical strengths and most importantly are excellent communicators who are proud to make Sarnia their home," said Sarnia Sting General Manager Dylan Seca in a news release.

Seca also announced that Mark Filipone has been promoted to head scout.

Joining the Sarnia Sting from the Windsor Spitfires is Matt Hogan who will be the director of player personnel.

“Matt joins the Sting from the Windsor Spitfires, where he’s been an area scout for the last 10 seasons," said Seca. "He’s a Sting alumni and someone who’s well respected as a minor hockey coach and talent evaluator."

Also joining the team this season will be OHL and Sarnia Sting alumni Kaden Fulcher as assistant goalie coach.

Ayden Letang has been named the assistant coach of player development after volunteering as a scout and video coach the previous two seasons.

The team also welcomes Assistant Equipment Manager Kaden Babcock.

The Sarnia Sting kick off the 2024-25 OHL season at home against the Windsor Spitfires on Friday, September 27.
