Sting beat Brampton to end four game losing streak

The Sarnia Sting are once again in the win column.

They traveled to Brampton on Saturday to take on the Steelheads, winning 5-3.

The Sting were coming off four straight regulation losses.

It was Brampton that came out firing as they found themselves up 2-0 less than nine minutes into the first period. Adam Zidlicky would find the back of the net before Carson Rehkopf did the same.

The Sting would cut into the lead before the end of the period thanks to a goal from Kaeden Johnston. His fourth of the season was assisted by Mitch Young and Ryan Brown.

The only goal in the second period came from Sarnia 12 seconds in as Zach Filak got his fourth of the year.

The third period was dominated by the Sting as they scored three goals. Tyson Doucette found the back of the net before Easton Wainwright scored two of his own.

Luke Misa would score one more for the Steelheads in the third period.

With the win, Sarnia improves its record to 7-6-1-3, while Brampton moves to 7-5-1-0.

The Sting’s next game is on Wednesday, November 6, on the road against the Owen Sound Attack.
