Sting beat Erie at home

The Sarnia Sting made easy work of the Erie Otters at home Saturday night.

Goalie Evan Maillet made 21 saves to help the Sting win 4-1.

Neither team were able to score in the first period with Erie being held to just four shots.

Lukas Fischer opened the scoring for the Sting late in the second period. His 11th goal was assisted by Easton Wainwright.

Erie got back within a goal just over halfway through the period thanks to Carey Terrance.

However, that's as close as they would get as Alessandro Di Iorio and Matthew Manza both scored in the last minute of regulation. Tyson Doucette, Mitch Young, and Zach Filak each added assists on the two goals.

With the win, Sarnia's record improves to 18-20-3-6, while the Otters move to 23-19-3-1.
