Sting lose to Frontenacs despite early lead

A two-goal lead wasn’t good enough for the Sarnia Sting against the Kingston Frontenacs.

The Sting hosted Kingston Sunday afternoon, and lost 4-2 after giving up four straight goals over the last two periods.

Beckham Edwards opened the scoring for the Sting less than four minutes into the first. His 17th goal was assisted by Ruslan Karimov.

Lukas Fischer doubled the lead on the powerplay with his 12th goal. Getting the assists were Alessandro Di Iorio and Tyson Doucette.

Kingston scored three goals in the second period. They came from Gage Heyes, Cedrick Guindon, and Jacob Battaglia.

The Frontenacs would cap the scoring with an empty netter from Tuomas Uronen.

Nick Surzycia made 23 saves for the Sting.

With the loss, Sarnia's record drops to 18-21-3-6, while the Frontenacs move to 28-12-5-2.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
