UPDATE: CBSA Will Detain Border Runner

The man who skipped the border and led police on an afternoon manhunt is still in Windsor police custody, but will be turned over to the Canadian Border Services Agency.

Sergeant Matthew D'Asti says Windsor police will not be laying any charges against the suspect, that's up to the CBSA. The man was arrested Wednesday without incident at the Husky on County Rd. 46.

CBSA says the man failed to report for a secondary examination at the Ambassador Bridge and fled into Windsor.

The car he drove over the border was reported stolen in the U.S., according to Windsor police. Police say no weapons were recovered after it was indicated the suspect was possibly armed.

It isn't exactly clear how the man ditched his car at Huron Church Rd., traveled downtown and eventually made his way to County Rd. 46. But police say he may have obtained a ride from somebody.
