Amherstburg Making Spending Very Public

Amherstburg councillors and the public now get to see where every dollar of the town's money is being spent on a bi-weekly basis.

The documents can be found online in the town's council agenda.

Director of Financial Services Justin Rousseau says Amherstburg's utilities are paid automatically, so that's one item you will not see on the bill. Otherwise, it lists everything from drain improvements to uniforms and office supplies -- even pizza and yogurt cups.

After approving these expenses at tonight's meeting, council's expected to provide a reserve and restricted cash update.
