Amherstburg Puts Millions In Reserves

In a short period of time, Amherstburg administration has taken the town's nearly depleted reserve account and filled it with millions of dollars in cash.

The Town of Amherstburg revealed Monday night that it now has $5.85-million sitting in a separate reserve account.

New Councillor Rick Fryer says this is just the start of good things to come. "Amherstburg, last year, realized that the golden pot was emptied out with the previous council and administrative decisions that council wasn't aware of," says Fryer. "Residents are going to be very happy to hear that this council, along with administration, are working well into the future for our benefit."

Amherstburg Council is asking all departments to find 10% in efficiencies for the upcoming 2015 budget.
