Caesars Windsor is donating an automated external defibrillator (AED) to the Capitol Theatre, which currently doesn't have the life-saving device.
Caesars knows first-hand how the device can save lives -- ten people have been revived at the casino using it since 2013.
Holly Kirk McLean with the local Heart and Stroke Foundation says they want to make defibrillators as common as fire extinguishers.
"It increases the survival rate by 75% if somebody has a cardiac arrest," she says. "Less than 5% of people who have cardiac arrest will actually survive if they have it outside of a hospital."
The $3,500 cheque presented to the Windsor-Essex Heart and Stroke Foundation also helps cover staff training for the defibrillator.
